SECCR continues to carry out research ethics. The committee actively undertakes national and Shanghai ethics-related topics and independently conducts academic research. At the same time, we introduce foreign advanced ethical standards and concepts, formulate relevant ethics standards lacking in China, and provide consultation for the government's strategic decision-making in the field of biomedicine and health.
In recent years, SECCR has led 3 scientific research projects of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission and Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, participated in the establishment of 1 major project of Shanghai Science and Technology, led the formulation of ethics review guidelines for cosmetics and biobanks, published 5 papers, and published the 2016 edition of CIOMS International Ethical Guidelines for Health-related Research Involving Humans, etc. Some of the research work carried out is as follows:

- SECCR has officially published the 2016 edition CIOMS International Ethical Guidelines for Health-related Research Involving Humans in Chinese. The standard Chinese version is translated by SECCR, funded and published by Shanghai Clinical Research Center, 2019
